Clouds and Particles - Basics
Clouds play a very important role in the climate system. In this Unit we'll look at the different forms of water on the Earth and in the atmosphere. We'll also look at what clouds are made of, how they form and identify the many different types of clouds which exist.
The air we breath is not only made up of gases. It contains also aerosols. Aerosols are small liquid droplets or solid particles suspended in the air. Aerosols can form directly in the air or can come from seawater, from human activity, from plants, from volcanoes and from rocks. They have an important role in the atmosphere and can affect human health.
